More Web 2.0 Exit Strategy Badges
Marco Rosella recently ran a post on Web 2.0 exit strategy badges and prepping for the upcoming Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco. I also covered it and offered a few more suggestions. Well, the creativity never stops I guess, so I’m publishing a few more ideas to complement Marco’s initial line-up of exit badges. I still say that we should get some of these made and pass them around at all of the events. In fact, let’s get these…
Shutterfly Hits the Street with IPO – Web 1.0 Still Has Legs
Online photo sharing and printing service Shutterfly raised $87 million in an IPO today, closing up 3.7% at $15.55 per share, reaching a ceiling of $16.73, according to VentureBeat. Marshall Kirkpatrick of TechCrunch observed, “In a time when IPOs are among the least common liquidity events enjoyed by Web 2.0 startups, for a photosharing site to remain independent and go public is interesting relative to all the startups we profile here.” I personally find this interesting on many levels. Web 2.0 Exit Strategy Badges
Kudos over to Marco Rosella for his clever post on Web 2.0 exit strategy badges and prepping for the upcoming Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco. Thanks for the tip from Valleywag. He writes, “With the definitive affirmation of blogs, podcasts, wikis, video and photo sharing, social bookmarking and all the other instruments that value the single user as an ‘active’ part of the web, the continual creation-sharing-reuse of contents ride with a rhythm high as the growth of the…
Web 2.0 Bullsh**t Generator
Alright, while we’re at it…guess who holds the number one spot on Blogpulse? Nope, not TechCrunch, it’s the The Web 2.0 Bullshit Generator™ brought to you by Emptybottle.org. According to the homepage, “The web is getting hot and sweaty again, and the dollars are flying almost as fast as the bullshit.” That statement couldn’t be more accurate. As someone working in PR and writing for this site, you have no idea how many of these verbs, adjectives, and market disruptors…
Web 2.0, Bubble 2.0, Enterprise 2.0 – Differences and Similarities from a Marketer’s Perspective
If you were around Silicon Valley during the 90s, then I’m sure the current Web2.0 frenzy seems familiar. If you’re fresh out of college, or if you’re a recent transplant, welcome to Bubble 2.0. Not that this bubble is going to burst with the same “pop” as 1.0, but it does share all too familiar nuances of hype and misdirection. There are even calls to ditch 2.0 for 3.0 already. Let’s just assume that everyone here understands the history behind…
